Buckle up, buttercup 🏎️🛞🐶

It’s rare these days to find a product that looks brand new after seven years. I truly appreciate this company @khpet for their sturdy, comfy car seats (goodbye car sickness and sliding around in the back).

The girls love them. Plus, they double as a safe spot for settling when you’re traveling to a friend’s house. And- they wash like a dream.

Do you use a booster? If you’re thinking of trying one for your small pup…truly look no further. I don’t hawk a lot of products (well, except yes, my book 😬😬😬), but this car seat deserves to be a best seller.

We practice recall almost every day.

My little redheaded Havanese Scout knows the drill. I love the way she looks over her shoulder, knowing Phoebe is there behind her, being her perfect stubborn self.

And I adore Phoebe’s independence. I know I’m “not supposed” to call her twice. But it works. She DOES always respond. But first, she likes to think about the reasonableness of my request. That makes her happy—to come see me because SHE wants to, not because I told her to.

Yes; there are times when safety requires absolute obedience. And like a kid, she knows by the tone in my voice when it’s one of those times. Today, we were just up with the sun enjoying the morning.

And that’s ok. What about you? Do your pups always respond to the first “command”? Since we have a fenced yard- I can be a bit less stringent.

I don’t know about you friends, but it was Friday night just moments ago…. This weekend mom groomed us, did all the laundry, cleaned stuff, went on TWO dates with dad, visited friends, wrote a blog post and half an email newsletter, and now she says she’s sitting down to relax. And she claims she won’t feel guilty about just sitting and “being” (whatever that means), but we know her better 😝

That 5am alarm is going off before she knows it!

Four years ago, our red Havanese Scout had a significant negative reaction to the Lyme vaccine. At the time, I`d failed to do the research, and I didn`t know that small, female spayed dogs under five years old are most likely to have bad reactions to vaccinations.

Now, it`s 2024, and the Lyme vaccine for small dogs is STILL a non-core vaccine we all need to know more about. In my most recent article, I`ve gathered (and demystified) the current peer-reviewed veterinary research articles on the effectiveness and recommended protocol for the Lyme vaccine for small dogs.
